Watercolor Brushlettering

Watercolor Brushlettering

Learn new watercolor techniques as we explore the world of handlettering to create cards, gifts, and so much more! In this course you will be introduced to new materials and practice the fundamentals as you create handlettered layouts with one-on-one instruction.

We will start by getting acquainted with watercolor techniques using the 'aqua brush' included in your kit, and learn some of the vocabulary that comes along with this art form. During the second part of the class we will set our watercolors aside to dry, and we will set up a handlettered layout. This part of class will give you a crash course in layout design and how to prepare your page before painting. By the end of course you will have at least one layout that you have worked on with instruction that is watercolored to perfection!

You will leave the workshop with a personalized kit of my favorite brush calligraphy tools to keep your practice going.

All supplies used in class are yours to keep!

The workshop ticket includes...

Kindly Letter Co. Brush Lettering Workbook
Aqua Brush Pen
Black Ink
Tube of Watercolor
Sheets of Watercolor Paper
Sheets of Practice Paper
Watercolor Pencil
...and more!

Frequently Ask Questions

Why is this course more expensive than previous courses?

I've spent years in my own practice discovering that that materials do influence product. For my workshops I provide artist grade materials to give the best products. Because watercolor can create so much beautiful texture, we are working on the best papers with the best tools on the market. At my workshop, you will have multiple instruments, multiple papers, envelopes, cards, and more.

Do I need to bring a friend?

No! The best part about these workshops is that most of us walk in as strangers and leave as friends. It's so much fun to watch as well as be apart of. It's also ok if you're on the shy-side, we have a lot of work to get done in just a little amount of time!

How old should participants be?

My first jobs were teaching art to children. From there, I began an AP Art prep program for high school art students, and lately, I've been teaching adults. These courses are for all ages, we might have a great time, but we are also pretty tame. We will drink coffee, eat lunch and snacks, and enjoy learning-- I'd say that's something all ages can share in!
